Oliver Birch’s boutique furniture and homewares retail outlets are absolutely gorgeous places to visit - but their online store needed some major renovations. We were able to overhaul the entire look and feel of their website with a stylish new design, and successfully migrated their ecommerce platform from WooCommerce to Shopify for a better user experience.
We took over the support and maintenance of Oliver Birch’s existing WooCommerce site three years ago, so we were the obvious choice when they needed a complete upgrade. Our first step was to come up with a visual design that feels contemporary and stylish.
We came up with a unique design that perfectly matches the Oliver Birch brand, with no unnecessary features or elements to “clutter” the online space. Simplicity and ease of use was key, to centre the products and enhance the user experience.
Starting with a mock up design, we then created a custom Shopify theme and a front end prototype. This was all fully integrated with Shopify functionality, while still offering the benefits of total control over the front end design rather than conforming to a theme.
Oliver Birch’s old WooCommerce site was slow and clunky, and the design was dated. Their branding is all about lifestyle and beautiful design, so they needed a website that elevates the Oliver Birch brand and which reflects the aesthetic of their product range.
In addition, their WooCommerce back end was being propped up by a whopping 54 plugins - and an endless amount of maintenance to keep them all updated. The high cost of ongoing maintenance made it necessary to move on to a new and better platform.
With over 900 products to migrate, it was important for us to work out a strategy for the Shopify implementation and to project manage the transition. We also took the opportunity to refine and add to the existing copy on the site, with keyword rich text.
We imported over 900 products to a much more streamlined platform that utilises only three plugins. Additionally, we were able to incorporate advanced shipping variations, Mailchimp integration and made the site ready for POS integration.
The end result is a stunning looking website that offers a superior user experience - and an upgraded platform that creates far fewer ongoing costs for the client.

We helped them to come up with a better brand name in Nexxt Group, design a logo that reflected their capabilities and ambitions, and establish a conversion-oriented website presence and digital marketing strategy as a platform for growth.
