Much-loved local windscreen repair business gets a full “website replacement”

The local larrikins at Windscreen City needed a new website, as their existing one was old and beyond repair. We’ve been successfully running their hilarious Facebook page for years (check it out for a good laugh), so we were their first choice when they needed a complete “website replacement”.

A “full replacement” for an old website that was beyond repair

The previous version of the Windscreen City website had seen better days, and was overdue for an upgrade. Not worth repairing, they opted instead for a full replacement, to bring it up to speed with the sleek and glossy websites of their larger competitors.

Streamlined, modern design with cheeky personal touches

We retained the red “castle” branding that is unique to Windscreen City, and this became the basis for our new design; combining with white, black and grey in the colour palette. 

Their core business is windscreen replacement and repairs, so we made this the central feature of navigation on the home page, enabling users to get information about the services they need straight away.

The team at Windscreen City have a fantastic sense of humour and lots of personality, and they created a hilarious short video that we were able to embed into the home page (featuring possibly the best impersonation of Billy Connolly we’ve ever heard).

Conversion-oriented focus, with new online quote function

Their new website - while entertaining - also has serious business to do. We came to the design of the new site with a very conversion-oriented focus, to make it easy for clients to request a quote as they browse the website.

We created a new online quote function, and this features at the bottom of every page. Elsewhere throughout the site, we included a series of call to action buttons, so the client can request a quote or click “Learn More” for additional information.

Crafting a relaxed, conversational tone that suits the brand

Tone is really important to get right. The content on their previous website was dry and impersonal, so we crafted new text with more personality, in order to be informative and engaging at the same time.

The new content was relaxed and conversational in style, often in a simple Q & A format. We included key messaging on every page, focusing heavily on benefits like same day service, courtesy lifts, quick quotes and lifetime guarantees.

The team at Windscreen City love their new “replacement” website, and we continue to work with them every month on their social media campaigns.
