A Day in the Life of the Connected Australian

A decade ago, Australians were only spending 1 hour a day (7.3 hours a week) online. This threefold increase in time spent online represents a seismic shift in the media and purchasing habits of Australians.

Australians are spending more time than ever online. We now spend 3.3 hours a day online, or 23.3 hours a week - that is a full day-and-a-half of our waking hours spent online every week.

This infographic charts the day of a typical Australian on a 24 hour clock. Here are the numbers:

  • 3.3 hours online (work and play)
  • 8 hours sleeping
  • 4 hours working (paid work or education)
  • 5 hours playing (free time used for leisure and social activities)
  • 4 hours caring (caring for others, housework etc.)
  • 3 hours eating

One that must be met by a seismic shift in the way we talk to them.
